2nd place in July’s 1day1ticket of symfony
Yes it’s true. I’m one of the winners of July for the 1day1ticket symfony’s initiative. I did my best for all the month trying to close a ticket a day giving my support to the community, I admit that it would be great to win a ticket for symfony live 2010 (it wasn’t because I’m 2nd and not 1st for just a few points).
Anyway I won some beautiful presents offered by the sponsors:
- Doctrine Book (I was thinking to buy it because I wan to jump from Propel to Doctrine)
- USB Fan + Light (kicks ass as Pascal said)
- elephpant (I’ve already other 2, but the one won has a bigger value!)
1day1ticket doesn’t stop so I’ll try to do my best also in August crossing my fingers to reach the goal: be in Paris next February! The bigger problem will be that I can’t use svn with my mobile connection, no I haven’t a xDSL at home because this is Italy…

Google Developer Conference Videos
In events
Google I/O Developer Conference 2009 on 27th-28th May at Moscone Center in San Francisco. No, I wasn’ there, anyway you can find a lot of material, videos and slides, of the sessions held from a lot of speakers at the event. From the whole list I’ve found two of them that I consider very interesting: “The Myth of the Genius Programmer” e “Do You Believe in the Users?“.

Italian PHP TestFest 2009
This year I’m attending several PHP conferences thanks to the GrUSP (Italian PHP User Group). PHPCon Italy on March in Rome and PHPDay on May in Verona, now I’m going to attend PHP TestFest 2009 in Cesena. After taking a lot is now time to give something to the community and to PHP itself.
I like conferences where I can meet friends and work side by side with them learning something new every time. Is there anything better than sharing knowledge with friends? I don’t know.
Did you attend your nearest Test Fest? Do you have any suggestion for a better time writing tests?

Some links about SVN
It’s no so long since I’ve started to use Subversion as source version control over projects in PHP, however I’m really passionate about that. After introducing SVN in the company I work for I’ve searched and read a lot of material realated to version control, so I want to share with you some links:
- Practical SVN for PHP Developers
- Svn Best Practices
- PHP Deployment With SVN
- Subversion – Ubuntu documentation
Have a good reading! And if you want to contribute to this list add your suggest in the comments below. Thanks.

Symfonians available in Italian!
Since a month Symfonians.net is also in italian! After the hard work for the translation of the Jobeet Tutorial, with the help of some fellows that give a lot of their time for the community although only a few people see that, I’ve asked for xml file with strings of the site and in a couple of day I’ve translated more or less 2000 strings alone. Round of applause!
If you find some typos or something that you can say in a different way please contact me.
